No — never. All file processing happens entirely inside your web browser using WebAssembly (WASM) and JavaScript. When you select a file, it is read into your browser's local memory. All manipulation occurs there and the result is offered to you as a download, without any data ever leaving your device.
We have no technical ability to view, copy, or store your documents. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded — the tools will still work perfectly.
Yes. Because files are processed entirely in your browser and never transmitted to any server, sensitive documents are completely safe to use with JD PDFs. Legal contracts, financial statements, medical records, and personal identification documents can all be processed without any risk of interception or server-side data breach.
When you close the browser tab, all file data is cleared from memory automatically.
JD PDFs does not set any first-party tracking cookies. However, we use two third-party services that may set cookies:
You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies will not affect the functionality of any PDF tool. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
We collect no personally identifiable information (PII). We do not know your name, email address, or what files you process. The only data collected is anonymised usage analytics (via Google Analytics) such as pages visited, device type, and approximate country — used solely to improve the site.
Read our full Privacy Policy for a complete breakdown.
No. JD Group does not sell, rent, or share any user data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. We share anonymised analytics data only with Google Analytics as part of our analytics tooling, and ad-serving data with Google AdSense. Neither service receives your file content or personal identity.
Yes. JD PDFs is served exclusively over HTTPS, which encrypts the connection between your browser and our servers. This means the page content, JavaScript tools, and any other assets are delivered securely. Since your files never leave your device, there is no file data in transit to intercept.
Yes, completely free. There are no hidden charges, no subscription tiers, no watermarks on output files, and no "premium" features locked behind a paywall. All tools are available to everyone at no cost. The service is funded by non-intrusive display advertising.
No account, registration, or login is required. Simply visit the tool you need and start using it immediately. We believe useful tools should be instantly accessible without friction.
There is no server-side file size limit because files are never uploaded to a server. Processing is limited only by your device's available RAM and CPU speed.
In practice, files up to 200–300 MB process quickly on most modern devices. Very large files (500 MB+) may take longer or cause slowness on older hardware or devices with limited memory. We recommend splitting very large PDFs first if you encounter performance issues.
Go to our Merge PDF tool. Click the upload area or drag and drop your PDF files. You can select multiple files at once. Drag the file cards to reorder them as needed, then click Merge PDF. Your merged file will download instantly.
This depends on the tool. The Merge PDF and IMG to PDF tools accept multiple files as input by design. Other tools like Rotate, Watermark, and Split operate on one PDF at a time. For batch processing of many files, we recommend processing them one at a time for best results.
This can occasionally happen with complex PDFs containing advanced features like custom fonts, embedded forms, JavaScript, or proprietary encoding. Our tools use open-source PDF libraries (PDF-lib, PDF.js) which handle the vast majority of PDFs correctly. If you notice quality issues:
Once you have downloaded the processed file, there is no undo function in JD PDFs. This is why we strongly recommend keeping a copy of your original file before processing. If you still have your original, simply re-upload it and start over.
Yes — partially. Once a tool page has fully loaded in your browser, the core processing functions work without an active internet connection. You can disconnect from the internet and continue processing files. However, the initial page load does require an internet connection to download the JavaScript and WebAssembly modules.
JD PDFs supports the following formats:
We are continuously working to add support for more formats.
Some tools support password-protected PDFs if you provide the password when prompted. However, tools that need to read or modify page content (like Highlight or Sign) may have difficulty with heavily encrypted PDFs.
If you own the document and know the password, try removing the password protection using a dedicated unlock tool first, then re-process the file. We are working on improving encrypted PDF support.
For most operations (merge, split, rotate, reorder, add page numbers, watermark), the original quality of your PDF is fully preserved. We do not re-render or re-compress the document structure.
For conversion tools (PDF to image, image to PDF), some quality tradeoff is inherent due to format differences. We use high-resolution defaults to minimise this. The PDF-to-Excel conversion extracts text and data and does not affect the original PDF quality.
The IMG to PDF tool supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and GIF images. You can combine multiple images of different formats into a single PDF. Each image becomes one page, and you can reorder them before converting.
The PDF to TXT tool extracts text from PDFs that contain selectable text layers. It does not currently perform OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on scanned or image-only PDFs. If your PDF is a scanned document with no text layer, the extracted text will be empty or minimal.
We are evaluating adding browser-based OCR support in a future update.
If a PDF fails to load or process, try these steps:
Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R).If the problem persists, contact us with details of the error message you see.
JD PDFs works on all modern browsers that support WebAssembly. We recommend and test on:
Older browsers (Internet Explorer, legacy Edge) are not supported as they lack WebAssembly support.
Yes. JD PDFs is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. Chrome for Android and Safari for iOS are both supported. However, for best performance — especially with large files — we recommend using a desktop or laptop computer.
Some tools with drag-and-drop interfaces (like Reorder Pages) are optimised for mouse interaction but also work with touch.
JD PDFs is built on a stack of open-source browser technologies:
Since processing happens on your device, performance depends on your hardware. To improve speed:
Common errors and their solutions:
If your error isn't listed, email us with the error message and we'll investigate.
Some browsers block automatic file downloads and treat them as pop-ups. If your download doesn't start automatically, look for a pop-up blocked notification in your browser's address bar and allow downloads from jdpdfs.in. Alternatively, a download button should appear on screen that you can click manually.
This is a browser security feature, not a restriction imposed by JD PDFs.
No account needed — ever. All tools on JD PDFs are freely accessible without registration, login, or any form of sign-up. Simply visit the page and use the tool. We believe productivity tools should be barrier-free.
Currently, there is only one tier: free. All features are available to everyone. There is no premium plan, no watermarks, no file limits, and no "upgrade to unlock" prompts. The service is funded by advertising alone.
If you'd like to support JD PDFs, simply sharing the site with someone who could benefit is the best way to help.
JD PDFs is supported entirely by Google AdSense display advertising. Ads are served non-intrusively alongside the tools. We do not sell user data, charge for features, or accept sponsorships that influence our tools.
If you use an ad blocker, the site will still work perfectly — though we'd appreciate you considering whitelisting us to help keep the service running.
